Women vie for votes in Nigerian elections

Of the 469 members of Nigeria's national assembly, only 44 of them are women.

Nigerian president Goodluck Jonathan has promised to appoint women in 35 per cent of political posts, if he wins next week's presidential elections.

Meanwhile, dozens of women are preparing for an uphill battle in the poll beginning on April 9.

Al Jazeera's Yvonne Ndege reports from Anambra state in south-eastern Nigeria.
