The suffering of female victims, and their attempts to rebuild their lives, is the subject of "Ruined," a play that opened recently at New York's Manhattan Theatre Club. Written by African-American playwright Lynn Nottage,"Ruined" has been praised by critics as "heart-wrenching," "riveting," "beautiful and hideous."
