President Sirleaf Visits Hometown: "Monrovia, Liberia - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has criticized residents of her hometown in Julejuah for the lack of self-initiatives to improve their area. The President said despite her personal efforts to respond to the development needs of Julejuah town, inhabitants of the area have remained indifferent. President Johnson Sirleaf observed that a once vibrant river is practically covered with debris, thus affecting its free flow, due to the unwillingness of the residents to remove the fallen trees and other debris. The Liberian leader cautioned that unless residents of Julejuah rose from their slumber other towns more interested in development would reap the benefits."
