Military Base in Africa: US dumps Nigeria, opts for Liberia

NIGERIAN TRIBUNE "THE United States may have dumped Nigeria for Liberia as a location for a military base under the US African Command (AFRICOM).

This followed Nigeria’s opposition to the US military facility on its soil.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that Liberia might have considered the historical ties between it and the US as well as the military assistance and other forms of aid it needs as a country which is just emerging from civil strife. It is also reported to be considering the rehabilitation of its demolished infrastructure by the United States."
