Matric slump looms

Daily Dispatch: "THE Eastern Cape is bracing itself for its worst-ever matric results.
Late yesterday sources close to the Education Department headquarters in Zwelitsha were painting a gloomy picture, with most experts forecasting a significant drop from last year�s pass rate of 59.3 percent.
The province is again expected to be at the bottom of the national list, with a pass rate either less or in the region of 1999�s all-time low of 40.1 percent."
