High food prices mar Christmas festivities

The Citizen Newspaper "Arusha's busy streets were deserted yesterday as the residents of the municipality marked Christmas.

The central market and the main bus stand in the heart of the municipality were less hectic as many people enjoyed the festivities with their families in the suburbs.

This was in sharp contrast to Monday when the bus stand was thronged by hundreds of people who jostled for seats in the buses heading to Moshi and neighbouring Manyara Region."
