The Citizen Newspaper Official Website: "Residents of Baringo District have been assured of adequate security following the killing of nine cattle rustlers by police in the area.

Baringo police commander Peter Njenga said security has been beefed up to enable residents to enjoy their Christmas holidays and to vote peacefully in the General Election.

Nine cattle rustlers were shot dead by police at Kiserian on Monday.

The raiders, armed with AK 47 rifles, engaged the police in a fierce three hour shoot-out.

One police officer was serious injured and admitted at Kabarnet Hospital."
