Israel Hasbara Committee: "Egypt appears to be changing its stance towards Hamas in recent weeks with intensified efforts at halting weapons smuggling from Sinai into Gaza.

On Monday, 11 February 2008 the London-Based Al-Sharq al Awsat newspaper reported Egyptian authorities are working harder to find the tunnels but are discovering how complex their job is.

“[The tunnels] are difficult to locate, seeing how many of them are located in homes along Egyptian Rafah and carry through to Palestinian Rafah... the tunnel entries are usually hidden inside closets or bathrooms,” Egyptian security officials said."
