KCC bosses get Shs160m to fight city take-over

Monitor Online "WITH the central government locked in a battle of wills with Buganda over proposed land reforms, Kampala City Council on Thursday resolved to hand Shs5 million to each of its 32 councillors to fight the planned city take-over by the State.
This implies that the council treasury will have to release a total of Shs160 million of taxpayer’s money to the councillors who are directly elected through universal adult suffrage to represent the five divisions of Kampala."
