Zambians toast Sata’s victory

Times of Zambia "ZAMBIANS across the country have continued to toast the victory of President Michael Sata in the September 20 tripartite elections.

Ndola Patriotic Front (PF) supporters and residents broke into wild celebrations after President Sata was officially declared winner of the presidential elections.

The residents left their houses to celebrate on the streets soon after Chief Justice Ernest Sakala, who was the returning officer for the presidential elections, declared Mr Sata the duly elected president yesterday.

The celebrations continued late into the afternoon as the residents and supporters matched around town while they also made mock funeral processions of the former ruling party, the MMD which was the PF’s closest opponent."
