Namdeb strike continues as talks falter

the Namibian: "Announcing the collapse of the talks that Labour Minister Immanuel Ngatjizeko had mediated, the National Union of Namibian Workers (NUNW) secretary general, Evilastus Kaaronda, announced on Thursday evening that the union had pulled out of the talks.
The union ended the talks after it was served with court papers by Namdeb management for a civil suit as well as to declare the strike illegal.
Namdeb has for now suspended its intention to approach the courts.
“What the letter shows both in content and purpose is the total disrespect, indifference, insensitivity and bad faith so much characteristic of Namdeb's conduct throughout this entire process of negotiations and search for settlement,” Kaaronda fumed.
“It is clear that Namdeb's deliberate acts of bad faith are aimed at derailing all efforts aimed at bringing about a genuine resolution to the current impasse,” he added."
