30 Tunisians stand trial for coup plot

The Times "TUNIS - The trial of 29 Al-Qaeda linked Tunisians who face the death penalty if found guilty of trying to topple their government has resumed .
They are suspected of being members of the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat, now known as Al-Qaeda’s Branch in the Islamic Maghreb.
A 30th accused, Zouheir Jrid, is charged with failing to inform the authorities about the plot.
The 29 facing death are charged with plotting against the security of the state, attempted attacks in order to subvert the regime, assassinations, possession of illegal weapons and membership of a terrorist group."
