video--Chadian president remains defiant

A dusk to dawn curfew has been ordered in Chad's capital and six southern and eastern regions in an attempt to restore calm after deadly fighting between rebels forces and government troops.

Their return follows the first public appearance by Chad's president Idriss Deby, since fighting broke out last week. Haru Matasa reports for Al Jazeera from Ndjamena.
