MSF calls for access to recently attacked areas in Darfur

Africa World: "Nairobi - The French medical charity Doctors Without Borders (MSF) demanded Wednesday unrestricted access to thousands of people in Sudan's troubled Darfur region after government forces and pro- government militias attacked villages in the region. The violent incursion over the weekend saw planes and helicopters bombard villages, with militias looting and burning, in an attack that displaced thousands of people and which MSF called the worst in years.
More than 12,000 people were displaced in the latest attacks and some 200 people killed.
'MSF is deeply concerned by the situation and requests that all belligerents grant free and unhindered access to the populations in dire need of emergency assistance,' said a statement by the group."
