EFCC/ICPC/CCB: One merger, many questions

Daily Trust newspaper "Last week the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Michael Aondoakaa announced that the Federal Government is contemplating merging the EFCC, ICPC and the Code of Conduct Bureau because of overlapping functions of the agencies. The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa (SAN), is no stranger to controversies. Since his assumption of office as the nation’s chief law officer, Aondoakaa has been having a running battle with the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Malam Nuhu Ribadu over the limit of the independence of the EFCC, as provided in its Act."
